Already Taken In Heart & Mind

Safaree sat at the table looking directly into Naomi’s face. He didn’t understand why she just showed up out of nowhere wanting to talk. Safaree was also kind of uneasy about this situation because of Nicki. Ever since Michael said her name when he got out of the car he became nervous. Naomi watched Safaree look in every direction about ten times since they had been in the restaurant.
“Safaree?” she said grabbing his hand, but he pulled away abruptly.
“Don’t touch me. What?”
“I just wanted to talk to you baby.” Safaree’s face screwed up.
“I’m not your baby and about what?”
“Well, I...I...I wanted to tell you about something that has been in my mind for the past couple of weeks.”
“What?”
“Are you in a rush?”
“As a matter of fact I am. I have very important business to handle.” Safaree said looking over his shoulder once more.
“Like buy a ring for that skinny bitch?” Naomi said more than asked. Safaree turned back and looked at her in disgust.
“What did you call her?” Just as Naomi was about to answer Safaree stopped her while he stood up. “Don’t you ever as long as you are Puerto Rican, disrespect Nicki like that.” He said with a stern tone. Naomi looked at SB and laughed.
“Sit down.”
“No, and you laughing but she will have you put down on some tracks quicker than that quick weave you got.” Naomi gasped and put her hand on her hair. She was shocked that Safaree had said that to her. Safaree put a hundred dollar bill on the table.
“That was rude and ignorant Safaree.” Naomi whisper to him. Safaree chuckled obnoxiously.
“I’m the most ignorant person you will ever meet.” His grin dropped and he walked away from the table. Naomi sat there, and watched Safaree walk away until he stopped. He turned around and walked back.
“And if you ever see me again and approach me…..You will get a small visit from Young Nic.” Naomi nostrils flared.
“Pick up your mouth, it’s hitting the floor.” With that Safaree walked away and out of the door. He went to the car only to find Michael gone. Safaree turned around looking around.
“Where did this nigga go?” Safaree then looked through the window of the ring shop. He locked to car doors and walked to the ring shop doors.
“Here Goes. No turning back now.” Safaree took a deep breath and walked in the store.

Nicki & Tyesha

“So you and SB had a good night or shall I say morning.” Nicki dropped the curling iron she was using on Tyesha’s hair.
“What?”
“I heard that headboard knocking. And them “Ohhhh Safareeeee” moans.” Tyesha said mimicking Nicki.
“Shut up!” Nicki said as her cheeks turned red.
“No, just admit you want getting the pipe this morning before the crack of dawn.”
“I don’t know what you are talking about.” Nicki answered back.
“Ahhhhhh” Tyesha playfully moaned.
“T.T!!!”
“Admit it”
“No”
“OhMy…………Mmmmmm”
“Tyesha!”
“Admit it Nic!” Tyesha said laughing
“No!”
“Damn Fareeee!”
“Okay!! I was getting some this morning”
“Was it that hard?” T.T asked
“Pauz.”
“I meant to tell me. Freak!”
“Still PAUZ.” Nicki said lifting the iron up and off her palm.
“Did you enjoy it?”
“Yes I did.” Nicki said blushing. T.T. saw this in the mirror and smiled.
“Nic, remember when we met Michael & Safaree when we was fourteen?”
“How could I forget. We was at the ice rink and Safaree wasn’t used to it. Then he tried to impress me with one of the one leg spins and fell in the middle of the rink.” Nicki said giggling.
“Yea, then you went to him and asked was he okay.”
“Mhmm, but that was after I laughed for a good twenty-five minutes.”
“Yes. You would’ve never thought we all would be dating and together now?” Nicki got quiet. Tyesha looked at her face, and saw a look she knew too well.
“Talk Nic.”
“I always had feelings for Safaree but I just didn’t want to act on them. I didn’t want to ruin our friendship that we had.”
“So what changed?”
“I grew up and got myself together. Back then you know how I was, and that relationship would have been lost. Safaree wouldn’t be here today. Plus he did some growing up too.”
“You are in love Nicki.”
“Am not!” Nicki said curling Tyesha’s hair.
“Yes you are.”
“How do you know?”
“I can tell.”
“How?”
“The way your eyes light up like a child seeing a Christmas tree when you see him. You laugh at his jokes when God know nothing was funny when he said it.”
“Oh My God T.T.”
“Yep.”
“I’m in love with Safaree. I’m in love with Safaree.” Nicki started to say it over and over getting this goofy smile on her face.
“Yes you are baby girl, and it is so cute.” Nicki bent down and hugged Tyesha.
“What was that for?”
“For making me realized something that I needed to for a long time. I always knew I kept you around for some reason.”
“You are welcome Nicki, that’s what best friends are for.”
“I’m glad I got you T.T.”“Yep, I’m the best.” Tyesha said popping her collar.
“See, we was having a cute best friend moment and you had to ruin it.”
“Yea, Yea, Yea. Let’s go get ready for our dinner for your birthday.”
“Okay Sis.” Tyesha got up and looked at M.J. with Safaree’s chain on. She picked him up.
“You think you icey?” M.J. nodded his little head.
“Oh Okay, well let’s get you dressed.” Nicki laughed as she took M.J from T.T.
“Go ahead and do him, I’m going to make our reservation.”
“Okay.” Nicki said walking up the stairs. Tyesha took out her phone and called Safaree. He picked up on the first ring.
“Yes?”
“Okay, she is getting dressed. I’m going to take her to dinner and we can meet you guys and everyone else at the ballroom.”
“Okay T.”
“Did you get the ring?”
“Yes I got it and she is going to love it Tyesha.”
“I’m proud of you brother. Finally going to do something you have wanted for a long time. She will say yes.”
“I hope so. Me and Mike are at our hotel room. Everything is going to be perfect.”
“Yes it is. Well let me go, and get myself ready tonight is going to be a special night.”
“Okay, T.T.”
“Okay Bye.”
“WAIT!” Safaree yelled into the receiver.
“Yes?” Tyesha answered quickly.“Thanks for the help with this.”
“Oh Boy, No problem. Nicki is like my sis and you are about to be my brother. Tell Mike I love him. See yall soon. Bye.”
“Bye.” Safaree hung up the phone. Tonight was the night that he was going to propose to the girl if huis dreams. The person that can make him laugh. The one that can make him feel on top of the world. And even if she would say no, in Safaree’s mind and heart he was Already Taken.
