Three Weeks Later

Nicki had tried talking to Safaree but he wasn’t listening to anything she had to say. He would come down stairs to get something to eat, and back to his room. She started to think that they were really over. On top of that he was playing all these old songs. The main one he played the past couple of days was “The One I Gave My Heart To”. Nicki got out of her bed and went to the bathroom to relieve herself and take a bath. She needs someone to talk to and the only person that came to mind was Ziare. She knew that she was wrong for talking to Ziare but she did owe him a peace of mind. She canceled dinner with him that Saturday but now she was ready to talk to him. She knew Safaree wouldn’t like it but she had to. She stepped into the tub, and tried to relax.

Safaree laid in his bed, and just thought. He hadn’t been outside his room for more than 5 minutes to get food, then right back in. His mind was all over the place. He listened to all these songs that matched his mood. Brandy’s song “Have You Ever” came on he just laid there. Those lyrics really hit home with him.  His thoughts: How could she hurt me like this? All of that I love you & I’m not going to hurt you. I haven’t done anything for her to doubt my love for her. I have been a good boyfriend to her, I have done everything to try and make her happy. But I guess she wants that punk ass. I can’t handle this; I’m done crying about her. Just as Safaree finished that thought Mary J. Blige “Not Gon’ Cry” boasted from the speakers. He got up and started packing his bag; he could stay in this house like this. He was going to go stay with somebody; he picked up his phone and called the one person he could at the time. “Vincent, Man look I need to crash at your place”

“What’s going on Safaree” Vincent asked.
“Me & Nicki need a break; I’ll tell you the story when I get there. Okay?”
“Alright, the door will be unlocked.” Safaree hung up the phone and took his bag down stairs.

                When Nicki walked down stairs to get something to eat, she saw the suitcases by the door. She knew that she wasn’t supposed to go out of town for work until tomorrow. She walked into the kitchen with SB sitting at the island in the middle. He had been crying she could tell. That was something that she loved about him, he never held his feeling in. But even though with that he had never cried tears unless he was really hurt. This made Nicki realize that she really hurt him to his heart.

“Safaree can we talk?”

“Yea, We can.” He said with his back to her.

“Good, Look I really am sor……”

“You did it no matter what though” he said not turning around.

“Safaree it wasn’t even like that”

“I don’t care you did it”

“Faree…”

“Wait a minute Rex…” Safaree turned around looking at Nicki; he took his earpiece out of his ear.  He gave Nicki a stank look. “Those heels, jackets, dress, & flowers from your man are in the living room”.

“Safaree, What are you talking about?” Nicki asked. Safaree just looked at her and put his earpiece back in his ear. “Rex, I’m on my way now”

“So you are leaving me?” Nicki said walking behind him grabbing his arm.

“Don’t touch me, when you been hugged up with him”

“Safaree come on, stop being like this”

“Come on, No I won’t “come on” you messed up and now I’m going to leave”.

“Safaree will you just talk to me?”

“Naw, looks like you have been talking to somebody already” SB said grabbing his bag going out the door.

“Safaree come on, Please talk to me” He really wanted to work this out but he wasn’t about to give in to her so quick. Nicki needed to learn a lesson, if he didn’t lay it down to her then there might be repeats. And he wasn’t dealing with that. He was about to give up until Nicki made a comment.

“SB if you leave…”

“What he going to be here, you know what do you, and I damn will do me.  Safaree got in his car and drove off, leaving Nicki crying she pulled out her phone and called somebody.

“Hello?”

“Come over Now.”
