I Miss You (Part One)

Wayne & Keyera

After Wayne kicked Birdman, Tez, Gudda, & Streets out of the house he was on his way upstairs to check on Keyera. He knew that he caused her to lose sleep and he felt bad about it. Just as his foot touched the first step, the door rung. Wayne looked at the clock. It read 10:30pm. He had no clue who could be coming to visit him at this time of the night. Wayne looked out of the window and saw a mini-van.
“Damn, I forgot about them.” Wayne said rushing to the door. When he opened it Reginae walked in.
“Hey Daddy.” She said dragging her Louis Vuitton suitcase behind her. Wayne looked at her.
“Hey Baby Girl” just as Wayne said as Sarah walked up to the door with Jason. His 7 month old son.
“Hey Wayne, He has been fed, bathed, & changed. You shouldn’t have to do anything for now.” She said handing Jason to Wayne. The baby started cooing and playing with Wayne’s dreads.
Keyera heard more noise and got up to go to the bathroom. After she relieved herself she went down stairs to get herself some Peanut Butter & Chicken. As she walked down the stairs she heard music being turned up. She could’ve sworn that the guys had left. She got to the bottom of the stairs and saw 6 suitcases by the door. She didn’t know where they came from, but she would find out.
“Wayne?” she said walking slowly into the living room. Reginae turned around from playing with her brother.
“Who are you?” She said with a snappy tone.
“I’m Keyera.”
“What are you doing in my dad’s house, KEYERA?” Reginae said putting emphasis on Keyera’s name.
“I don’t think you should worry about that.” Keyera said walking around the couch.
“So you just another one.” Reginae said picking Jason up.
“What is that supposed to mean?”
“Take it how you want to KEYERA.”Reginae said again putting emphasis on her name again. She got up from the floor. “You won’t be here long just like the others.” With that Reginae walked up the stairs to her room. Keyera was two seconds from telling that “Little Girl” off. She was already mad because her feet hurt; she was hungry, & deprived from sleep. Now on top of all of that she had to deal with this smart mouth little girl. This isn’t what she had planned for her weekend with Wayne.
Wayne came out of the kitchen with snacks for Reginae & Jason. He was about to set up the WII for them. When he looked up he saw Keyera standing there. She was spaced out in her thoughts.
“Babe, you okay?” Keyera didn’t say anything.
“Key-Key?” She still didn’t say anything.
“Maybe she deaf daddy” Reginae said walking into the living room.
“You know what?”
“No what tramp” Reginae mumbled the “tramp” remark. Wayne didn’t hear it but Keyera did. Reginae took the cheese crackers from Wayne.
“I’m not dealing with this” Keyera said picking up the phone.
“With what?” Wayne asked. Keyera walked out of the living room into the foyer. She dialed one of her friends. Wayne looked over to Reginae. She shrugged her shoulders and walked into the kitchen. Wayne went after Keyera. He walked into the foyer to see her half way up the steps.
“Come pick me up Nae.”
“I’m on my way. Just give me 45 minutes.” Nae said.
“Okay that will give me time to pack & get dressed.”
“Okay. See you in a few” Keyera hung up to Wayne grabbing her waist.
“Why are you leaving?” he whispered in her ear. She pulled away from him, and continued to walk. Wayne stood there at the top of the stairs. Keyera walked into the room. She pulled out her Gucci bag Wayne gave to her for their fourth month anniversary. She started packing her bag. She was living with Wayne but hadn’t officially moved in. She still had her apartment with Nae.
“Why don’t you just move in with him?” Nae would always ask her.
“Because Nae, I don’t know how we are going to work out and if we don’t then I’m going to need a place to stay.”
“Well, you know you are always welcome here but move in with the man.”
“No Nae. You trying to get rid of me? We have only been roommates for one year.”
“Not at all Twin, You know I love you.”
“Yea Okay.” Keyera laughed at the flashback. Nae & her would have that conversation all the time, before her & Wayne would go on dates. But she was right because at times like this she could go home. Keyera made a mental note to rub that she was right in Nae’s face when she picked her up.
Wayne walked in the room after preparing Jason for bed, and forcing Reginae to go to bed as well. He heard the shower running. He looked at the bottom of the bed. He saw all of her stuff packed. All of her Shoes, Dresses, Jeans, Leggings, T-Shirts, & Jewelry. He didn’t think that she was serious about leaving. Last couple of times they had an argument she said she was leaving she didn’t pack. So he took her as a bluff this time. He heard they water stop running. He sat on the bed. Keyera came out of the bathroom 20 minutes later dressed in a dark blue sundress, she had on A yellow necklace, bracelet, with yellow sandals. Nae had called her back and told her to dress up because they were going out for a relaxing dinner. Wayne looked at her; he thought she looked so beautiful. He didn’t want to say anything to make her mad, or stressed. The doctor pulled him aside in the office and told him some guidelines to follow, while she was pregnant. The dress she had on showed her little baby bump. He went into a trance. He walked over to the vanity she was sitting at. He kneeled down and touched her stomach. Keyera moved his hand off of her. She had to do her make-up. She wasn’t going out looking ratchet tonight. She had this glow on her. Her mother had told her it was because of the pregnancy. Wayne just stood there looking at her. He knew he was going to have to let her leave, but he didn’t want to. He wanted to try talking one more time.
“Keyera…?” Just as he said her name a car horn went off. She got up and looked out the window. Her phone went off. Keyera picked it up.
“Come on Key, I’m hungry.”
“Well somebody got to come help me get my bags.”
“OhMyGawd, Hold on….. Dakotaa & Kennedi go get her bags so we can leave.” Dakotaa & Kennedi gave Nae a messed up look.
“Why can’t you go?” Kennedi asked.
“Because I’m driving unless you get under this wheel, Get your ass in the house and help her.” Kennedi side eyed Nae. Dakotaa was in the back seat cracking up.
“What you laughing at, Come help me.” Kennedi said getting out of the car. Dakotaa raised her eyebrow.
“I’m not helping do anything.” They went back and forth and Nae Just sat there looking at them.
“This is going to be a long night.”
